ABOUT

Craig Penner is a lawyer at Morley Hanson Law Corporation. He is a Strata Law Specialist focused on Strata Governance, Human Rights, Risk Management, Privacy Law, and Dispute Resolution (primarily Mediation and CRT). Craig helps Stratas build robust and resilient communities.

Craig is a contributor to the chapter on Strata Management in the British Columbia Strata Property Practice Manual published by the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia.

Craig’s passion for law and justice developed early, despite coming from a family of lawyers and police officers. Craig decided to specialize in Strata Law because of his interest in building community.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Craig was a member of several Victoria bands. His time playing local dives, connecting with other artists and contributing to Victoria’s vibrant music scene encouraged him to specialize in Strata Law because of its focus on building healthy communities.

At the University of Calgary, where he studied law, Craig volunteered with Student Legal Assistance, a pro-bono Legal Clinic offering legal information and representation to low-income residents of Calgary and the surrounding area. This early experience taught Craig the value of serving the Community and reinforced his commitment to pursuing a career focused on Problem Solving, Advocacy, and Fairness.

Prior to studying law at the University of Calgary, Craig studied creative writing at Camosun College and English at the University of Victoria. Craig continues to play music locally and record music with friends.  These experiences taught Craig the value of collaboration, when to lead and when to follow, and the power of storytelling in advocacy. Craig continues to use these skills with the talented team at Morley Hanson and with his clients.
